Patients are seen by appointment and we are often able to schedule same day appointments, holding back 5 slots for emergencies or urgent issues each day except Wednesday when we have 4 such slots. This type of scheduling should almost eliminate the need to go to urgent care clinics or the emergency rooms except in real emergencies. Most prescription refills come through our electronic medical records system from the pharmacies and we fill those every day except on weekends.
Dr. Fletcher is on call 24/7 except when out of town. The office has a 24 hour answering service through our main number 505-989-9144. Many, if not most, issues can be dealt with via phone advice, some may require visiting urgent care or the emergency room but those should be for complicated issues such as heart attacks, strokes, car accidents, serious wounds, trauma, etc. The ER should only be used for real emergencies.
