Dr. Fletcher was born in New York and raised in Texas. He graduated cum laude from Harvard College in 1973, received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in1978, and completed a 3 year family practice residency at the University of Massachusetts in 1981. He was class president in medical school, chief resident in residency and moved to Santa Fe in 1981 as a National Health Service Corps physician assigned to a local clinic. In 1983 he founded the 501 (c) (3) non-profit Santa Fe Family Health Center, and in 1988 founded the current Santa Fe Family Practice.He has been certified every 6 years since 1981 by the American Board of Family Medicine, is a diplomate of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and has served as chief of the Family Practice section at St. Vincent Hospital.Starting in college and continuing into residency, Dr. Fletcher did research in dermatology, has done research as well in anthropology, is a published poet, and has special practice and research interests in weight loss strategies and obesity, depression, and anti-smoking activism. He has been involved locally, nationally, and internationally in anti-smoking issues and ordinances, breastfeeding advocacy, and promoting against routine newborn male circumcision. Between 1981 and 2013 he delivered well over a thousand babies at St. Vincent Hospital. Among other activities Dr. Fletcher helped found the Santa Fe Men’s Camerata (a singing group) in 1999 after singing with the Santa Fe Symphony chorus for15 years, and has been Vice-President (4 Years) and President (19 years) of the Harvard-Radcliffe Club of New Mexico. He is married with two sons.
Rosa joined the practice as an office secretary and then medical assistant in 2007. She was born in Mexico, moved to Santa Fe as a teenager and graduated from Capitol High School. She is married with 2 children
Rocio joined the practice in 2021 as a front desk manager and is cross trained as a medical assistant. She was born and raised in Santa Fe.
